About BonfireBonfire is an AC\DC tribute to the late Bon Scott, the 33-year-old singer who died on February 19th, 1980 from alcohol poisoning. AC\DC was climbing in fame and in the charts with their hit record “Highway To Hell” when the unprecedented happened. The band reached multi-platinum status in their next effort, “Back In Black,” with their new singer Brian Johnson, who continues to sing with the band today. Bonfire performs AC/DC's Bon Scott-era classics. Included in the show are the hits “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap,” “TNT,” “Highway To Hell,” “Whole Lotta Rosie,” and their showstopper “Bad Boy Boogie.” The band premiered on the 20th anniversary of Bon Scott’s death. The band performs locally in the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana areas, and travels in the Midwest. Due to popular demand, the band added to its repertoire a few of songs performed by current singer Brian Johnson, such favorites as “Back In Black,” “Thunderstruck,” and “You Shook Me All Night Long.” Playing the role of Bon Scott, carrying the very incredible sound-a-like voice is Jim Hillegonds. Shaking the foundations is Zeke Rongers, the “Angus Young” of the band. Zeke dons the Gibson SG and the schoolboy outfit while his high voltage fingers rip out the best blues solos in Angus fashion. Carrying the rhythmic power load of AC/DC's rhythm guitarist Malcom Young is Chad Kovac. Chad is a new addition to the band, hailing from Chicago's north suburbs AC/DC tribute band Downpour. Pounding out the thunder is problem child Gary Grimler. Joined in the live wire rhythm section is Mike LuBecke, playing the bass. Mike is currently endorsed by Spector Basses. The group relives the awesome live performances and stages the wall of Marshall Stacks to add to the effect of a real AC/DC concert! Band Members
