About the Band

Day one of 2003 saw the rise of a new sound in the midwest.  One that's sure to cross the lips of music lovers near and far.  The sound is that of Killing Vegas.

This St. Louis based band is dedicated to hard work, hard play, and having fun.  The music they do is energetic, upbeat-alternative rock with a good dose of dance/club style thrown in.  "It's mostly current songs you know and love.  Songs that make your head rock, and your body move."

Kyra Lawrence (lead vocals) stands front and center.  He's been singing since the age of nine and has fronted previous bands Soul Funktion, and HoneyVox.  Lodell Parks (bass, vocals) is originally a guitar player but has switched for this project.  His recent bands include The Happy Mutants, and Soul Funktion.  Jeff Love (guitar, vocals) mans half of the guitar duties.  He has been playing for the past eleven years and has played with the bands Bozo Rooster, and Fresh City.  Kevin Duckworth (guitar, vocals) rounds out the guitar section.  Having played for the past ten years or so.  You may have seen him with Bronx Zoo, or Carry the Zero.  AJ Fisher (drums, vocals) completes the line up.  Playing since the age of nine has helped him land jobs with Sammy and the Snowmonkey's, and Dixie Express.  Eric Evans (bass) is the new guy of the group.  Taking over on bass, he really adds energy and excitement to the band.  He's played since age thirteen, and gigged  the last four years with Extremely Pointless. 

Before collaborating on this project, some members, in different combinations, were in bands or worked on something together.  AJ was in Teknicolour Yawn and Carry the Zero with Kevin.  Lodell and Kyra played in Soul Funktion.  A solo recording brought Kevin, Jeff, and Kyra side by side.  And Lodell shares credit for writing songs with Kyra.  This experience makes the current project tighter and more solid.  AJ explains "it's great to play music with guys you're comfortable with.  You know more of how that person plays and how the music will push and pull.  This, then, gives you a better understanding of how the end result will sound."  Thus, the quintet joined forces to stir up the creative chemistry that is now known as .....  Killing Vegas!
